abaqus friction stir spot welding (fssw)
hi Abaqus students.
In this post, we will see how to do friction stir spot welding-fssw in Abaqus software.
fssw is the process of placing two metal plates on top of each other and applying heat to a specific surface due to friction on both of them, forming a bond between the two metal plates.
That is, the cylindrical tool rotates at high speed on the surface of the metal plate above. Thus generating heat on the surface of the metal plate above.
Thus the tool rotates and moves slowly from top to bottom. Thus the heat generated on the surface of the metal plate above spreads to the metal plate below. The heat thus generated causes both metal plates to slowly begin to melt.
Thus the two metals begin to melt at the specified area and the connection between the two metals occurs.Once this process is complete the heat generated in the particular area between the two metal plates will begin to decrease. The bond between the two metals will then be further strengthened.
This can be done in the form of dynamic temperature displacement in Abaqus software.I did this by fssw using less material properties in abaqus software. I did not use johnson cook damage parameters for this.I also mainly considered fixed time, mass scaling factor, and interaction section during the procedure. Thus I have completed the friction stir spot welding-fssw process in abaqus software.
